Deep in the Northern Maine Woods, between Eagle Lake and Umbazooksus Lake, lie two relics of a bygone age. These are the Allagash Ghost Trains. Accessible by either a long canoe trip or a long drive on sometimes rough logging roads and a short hike, these trains were used to transfer logs between the two lakes. Decommissioned in 1933 these trains lay forgotten until they were rediscovered decades later. Click here to learn more about these amazing pieces of history.
